Sexual therapy is a professional treatment focusing on sexuality-related questions and challenges. It can be individual or couples therapy.

How does sexual therapy work?
Sexual therapy is talk therapy — it does not include physical exercises in the office. The therapist may assign homework to be done privately or with a partner.
Who can be a sexual therapist?
In Finland, a sexual therapist is a psychotherapist or other healthcare professional who has completed specialized sexual therapy training. A sexual counselor has lighter training.
Costs
Sexual therapy typically costs €80–150 per session. Kela does not directly reimburse sexual therapy, but if there is a diagnosable disorder, Kela rehabilitation psychotherapy may be possible.
